Mortgage Loss Mitigation Specialist I .

This position serves as a representative of Statebridge Company, LLC, and will assist the Loss Mitigation team in the day to day administrative duties, such as processing the incoming and outgoing mail, managing the Loss Mitigation Inbox and the DMM portal communication, and processing loss mitigation applications and associated letter requirements for CFPB complican. This position will report to the Loss Mitigation Director.


  • Processes incoming mail from the mailroom
  • Package intake of all new loss mitigation requests, including reviewing borrower financials, mailing out the 5 day CFPB Acknowledgment letter, placing the foreclosure on hold and setting up the new loss mitigation rails in the servicing system.
  • Responsible for monitoring incomplete loss mitigation packages and receipt of documents returned.  Also responsible for completing denials if requested documents are not returned in the appropriate time frame.
  • Prepares, mails and tracks the return of loss mitigation documents including, denial letters, STP2MOD and final modifications.
  • Responsible for receiving final modifications, scanning them to the imaging system and preparing them for management signatures.
  • Gathers executed final modifications, scans them and delivers them to the collateral department or investors as necessary.
  • Responsible for management of FHA documents with vendor (Ruth Ruhl) including – sending original documents to vendor for recording, documenting FedEx tracking information at the loan level for documents sent, reviewing vendor reporting for holds and to ensure documents are sent to HUD within required time frames, sending original documents to FHA investor when returned from vendor (includes recorded modifications and title policies).
  • Monitor the DMM Portal including communicating information to the SPOC or other departments as necessary and responding to requests within the DMM portal.
  • Responsible for handling mediation attendance requests, including determining who is available to attend the mediation, communicating contact information to the attorney, adding the mediation to both the SPOC’s and Loss Mitigation Director’s calendar, and providing the call information within the meeting invite so the SPOC can attend the call.  Also responsible for communicating any updates regarding the medication and making updates to the calendar appointments as needed.
  • Ability to speak professionally and pass QA compliance telephone audits.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or two to four years related experience
    and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): None
  • Experience: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following
      • 1 or more years experience in mortgage loan servicing or origination required.
      • 6 months to 1 year experience in loss mitigation preferred.
      • 1 or more years of telephone customer contact experience required
      • Intermediate math skills required.
      • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, CFPB, FCRA and FDCPA required.
      • GSE experience preferred
      • Ability to multi-task
      • Detail oriented
